At the points at max amplitude, the energy is all potential because there is no velocity at that point because the object is changing direction. If it is a pendulum, it will be all gravitational potential energy and if it is a horizontal spring it will be all elastic potential energy.

PeriodPeriod is affected by different things depending on the type of simple harmonic motion. The top formula is for all types of periodic motion, but Ts is for spring simple harmonic motion and Tp is for pendulum. For springs, the period depends on the mass and the spring constant (k). For pendulums, the period depends on the length of the string and the gravitational constant.
MassAlthough having the same value, gravitational mass and inertial mass are calculated differently. Gravitational mass measures the mass using the gravitational force of an object. An example of this is a scale. Inertial mass measures the mass by putting an object into oscillatory motion and measuring the period and the spring constant.
